Cindy McKinnon begins her first year on the bench as a Mavericks assistant coach.
McKinnon comes to Arlington with a wealth of Club experience, most recently serving as the head coach of Texas Image Volleyball Club in Grand Prairie and leading the team to Nationals.
She spent five years as the head coach of the Saddleback Valley Club team in Lake Forest, Calif., earning Most Improved Coach accolades in 2002 and honored for coaching excellence in 2003.
McKinnon also gained experience on the high school level as the JV coach at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Mission Viejo High School and Troy High School, and also as an assistant coach at Westlake High School.
As a player, McKinnon began her collegiate career at Abilene Christian before returning home to earn first team all-Western States Conference honors at Moorpark College. She ended her career by earning first team all-Sunshine State honors and served as team captain at Florida Southern College.
McKinnon played her prep ball at Thousand Oaks High School in California where she earned first team honors in helping lead her team to four Marmonte League championships.
McKinnon earned her associates degree from Moorpark College in 1995 and her bachelor's degree in physical education/recreation from Florida Southern University in 1997. She is currently pursuing on a master's in exercise physiology from Tarrant County College.
