VB: Jedlicka Double-Double Paces Sweep at ULM

MONROE, La. -- Sophomore Kylie Jedlicka charted her fourth double-double of the year to highlight a UTA volleyball three-set sweep (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) at ULM to conclude its regular-season road schedule, on Saturday night at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

UTA (11-13, 5-6 Sun Belt Conference) wrapped up its road schedule with the win at ULM (4-25, 0-12 Sun Belt Conference), improving to 46-3 all-time vs. the Warhawks, including 21-1 in Monroe.

The Mavs used an efficient offensive attack, hitting .420 as a team, owning a 43-27 lead in kills, adding a 50-34 advantage in digs.

Jedlicka starred for the Mavs with her fourth double-double of the year and her third in October. The sophomore outside hitter had 10 kills and 10 digs to lead the offensive attack for the Mavs.

Senior outside hitter Qiana Canete collected 10 kills and eight digs in the win. Canete now sits 16 kills shy of the UTA career record, with the Copperas Cove, Texas, native ranking second with 1,400 kills. Canete also ranks fourth in UTA career history in digs (1,531) as the only decorated player in program history to rank in the top three in both categories.

Sophomore setter Haley Higgins dished out 24 assists to help direct the UTA offense. Zhanelle Geathers added nine kills on a .571 hitting percentage. Sophomore Madison McConnell had three kills and three digs, with freshman Tessa Harfield sporting four kills. Libero Libbie Vickers had a team-leading 17 digs with junior setter Madison Helt owning two kills, eight assists and nine digs.



UTA will open a homestand on Friday at College Park Center, hosting Little Rock in a crucial conference clash at 6:30 p.m. CT.
