ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington volleyball kicks off its spring schedule Saturday by hosting three teams at the Maverick Activities Center.
“We are looking forward to getting our first look at who we will be in the future after finishing a successful 2013 season," UT Arlington coach Diane Seymour said. "We have been working on a few changes to our game and want to put it to use in a competitive situation.
"Adjusting to life after Shelby (Dickson), Charmaine (Whitmore) and Megan (Casey) has several of our returners stepping into new roles and more is being asked of them. The transition is going well and we will know more after our first spring weekend.”
The Mavericks will be joined by Navarro Junior College, Abilene Christian and Sun Belt Conference rival Texas State.
UT Arlington and Texas State last met in the SBC Championship when the Bobcats swept the Mavericks in straight sets 3-0. ACU made an appearance in the UTA Hilton Invitation this fall, as UTA defeated the Wildcats 3-2.
First serves for this weekend's matchups begin at 9 a.m.
UT Arlington continues its spring play March 29 with a doubleheader in Waco to take on the Baylor Bears at 10 a.m. The Mavericks wrap up spring completion hosting seven teams April 12 at College Park Center. UTA will be joined by Midwestern State, North Texas, DBU, Navarro Junior College, SMU, Texas Tech and TCU. First serve set for 9 a.m.
