UTA redshirt junior outside hitter Allie Deese is in her second year on campus after redshirting the 2017 season. A transfer from Lee College, Deese brings great height and power to the Mavericks. She averaged 2.39 kills per set and 0.83 blocks per set during 2015 at Lee College.
Why did you choose UTA?
"When I was looking for a school to transfer, I visited UTA. I liked the school, the academics and being close to home."
What is your favorite volleyball memory?
"I have so many but I think my favorite memory is just eating together as a team, which is something we do a lot."
What is your favorite vacation spot?
"I just came back from Costa Maya and it was beautiful so I would love to go back there again."
What do you want to do when you graduate?
"I want to be a second-grade teacher."
What is your favorite class at UTA?
"I took an animal literature class. It was really interesting. Really cool."
What is your favorite meal?
"Probably Fuzzy's shrimp salad."
If you had to choose one utensil to eat with forever, what would it be?
"Fork, because it's the most diverse."
What advice would you give to young volleyball players?
"Always work hard, never give up on your dreams. It is going to turn out okay."
What would your super power be?
"Breathing underwater. I like swimming."
