Sophomore libero Taylor Murata enters her second season at UTA after a strong season in 2016. Murata, a native of Arlington and a product of Lamar High School, set UTA's freshman mark for digs in a season. She finished with 566 digs and 4.39 digs per set, adding 100 assists. Murata charted double-digit digs in 28 straight matches to wrap up the season, with double-digit digs in 31 of 33 matches.

"Because it's close to home. I really liked the environment and the people with the program."

"I want to work at Google. It is close to Palo Alto and I want to do something there."

"Water. A knife. And my puppy."

"Chicken and waffles. Bread Winners."

"Being able to hold your breath underwater."

What advice would you give to young volleyball players?
"Always push hard. Try 110-percent all the time. Just keep working. A dream can be accomplished if you just keep pushing."
