Time to get to know your Mavs! As UTA's volleyball season draws closer, UTAMavs.com will highlight each Maverick student-athlete with a fun Q&A!
Sophomore outside hitter Kylie Jedlicka emerged as a weapon on the UTA roster during her freshman season. A six-foot native of League City, Texas, Jedlicka finished with 1.57 kills per set and a .191 attack percentage during her collegiate debut. She starred in UTA's outing at Texas State, with 15 kills and six blocks vs. the Bobcats. Jedlicka prepped for four years at Clear Springs High School.
Why did you choose UTA?
"I felt it was a good fit for me. My dad is always out of the country and if I were to play real close to home there was a better chance for him to get to watch me play."
If you had to choose one utensil to eat with forever, what would it be?
"A spoon. It is the best of both worlds. If you want to cut with it, you can figure out a way to cut with it."
If you had to swap places with one teammate who would it be?
"Probably Taylor (Murata) so I can be a libero."
What do you want to do after your graduate?
"Go to law school."
If you had to sing one song on the videoboard during a match?
"Halo by Beyonce"
Who is your celebrity crush?
Who is your favorite professor at UTA?
"Most definitely Allan Saxe."
What advice would you give to young volleyball players?
"Don't give up even when you are sore and tired, the reward is worth it."
