ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington volleyball team will take to the road on Tuesday when they travel to Abilene, Texas to take on Abilene Christian with the match set to begin at 7 p.m.
UTA is undefeated against Abilene Christian all-time, with the last victory for the Mavericks coming during the 2013 season when UTA took down ACU in five sets. The lone non-victory for the Mavs during the series came in 1973 when the two squads tied 13-15, 15-17.
UT Arlington showed resilience in their 2013 victory over Abilene Christian as they came back from a 2-1 deficit to claim the five-set victory (25-20, 15-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-10). Caitlyn Cooney helped UTA defensively as she recorded a match-high 29 digs. The Mavs claimed the victory despite recording an attack percentage of just .048.
Junior Stacey Koch showed her efficiency on the court during the College Park Maverick Classic when she compiled an attack percentage of .571 in the Mavs three games. Koch's best performance came in UTA's three-set sweep of Jackson State when she recorded 11 kills on 13 attacks with an attack percentage of .846 while also notching two assists and one dig.
UTA will see a familiar face on the Abilene Christian sideline on Tuesday in the Wildcats head coach Jason Bibler. Bibler spent the 2013 season as an assistant coach with the Mavs, helping UT Arlington to a Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship appearance.
