ARLINGTON, Texas - The Mavericks will host WAC opponent Idaho this Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
UT Arlington (6-13, 2-5) is 1-0 all-time against the Vandals (7-10, 5-2). The last meeting came in 1990 at home and the Mavs won in five, 12-15, 15-12, 15-7, 9-15, 15-8. This match will mark the first meeting between the Vandals and the Mavericks in College Park Center, and in the rally-scoring collegiate volleyball era.
UT Arlington fell to Texas State last Thursday in four sets, 18-25, 14-25, 25-18, and 15-25. Ashley Bennett led the offense for the Mavs with 11 kills and contributed five blocks, all assisted. Valerie Stetzer had a team high 18 digs while Amanda Welsh notched 33 assists on the night.
The Mavericks lost in straight sets to UTSA last Saturday to close out their WAC road trip. Once again, Bennett led offensively with six kills. Shelby Dickson and Stetzer rounded things out on defense with eight digs each and Welsh tallied 18 assists on the match.
For the remainder of the 2012 season, UT Arlington will be providing live video and radio streaming for all home matches.
