DACUS EARNS CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

FRISCO - Senior Torie Dacus was named as Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Chloe Smith from Central Arkansas, the Southland Conference office announced Monday.
Dacus (Ovilla, Texas) was honored after averaging 3.88 kills and 3.00 digs leading the Mavs to a pair of road wins over Texas A&M Corpus Christi and UTSA. She began the weekend with an 18-kill, 9-dig, 6-block performance against TAMUCC and ended it with 13 kills and 15 digs in a three-game sweep of UTSA. Dacus also recorded three service aces and a team-high 38 points for the week
On the season, Dacus is averaging 2.84 kills and 3.18 digs a game, which ranks second on the team. She has 11 double-doubles in the team's 20 matches.
UTA will continue league play as it travels to Lake Charles, La. for a meeting with McNeese State on Friday. THe Mavs will then take on the Lamar Cradinals in Beaumont on Saturday. Lamar leads the East Division with a 7-0 record in SLC action.
