ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington will host the UTSA Roadrunners on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at College Park Center.
The Mavericks (8-17, 4-9 WAC) are 27-16 all-time against UTSA (15-8, 8-5 WAC), including a three-set loss on the road earlier this season, 18-25, 7-25, and 18-25. Ashley Bennett led the offense in that match with six kills and a .400 attack percentage, the highest of all the starters. Amanda Welsh tallied 18 assists while both Shelby Dickson and Valerie Stetzer had eight digs. The Mavs are 18-3 all-time when facing the Roadrunners at home but have yet to play UTSA at College Park Center.
The Mavericks fell to Utah State and San Jose State in both of their road matches last week.
Against Utah State (23-25, 25-27, and 19-25) Dickson had a team-high nine kills while Welsh tallied 22 assists. Stetzer led with eight digs and Charmaine Whitmore had seven blocks, all assisted.
UT Arlington fell in four to San Jose State last Saturday, 12-25, 19-25, 25-16, and 20-25. Dickson earned her eleventh double-double of the season in digs (10) and kills (11). Welsh recorded a team-high 28 assists, Caitlyn Cooney notched 25 digs, and Whitmore tallied four blocks, all assisted, in the loss.
For the remainder of the 2012 season, UT Arlington will be providing live video and radio streaming for all home matches.
