ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington volleyball hosts Georgia State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Western Kentucky on Saturday at 3 p.m. in its last home matches of the season.

"I think we'll come out energized to play on our home court for the last time this year," UTA coach Diane Seymour said. "I think we have the advantage this weekend because we are at home and have played most matches back-to-back this season where a lot of other teams have played on Fridays and Sundays."

The Mavericks (15-10, 8-4 SBC) fell to rival Texas State on Wednesday in San Marcos, Texas (25-21, 25-19, 25-22). Earlier in the week, sophomore defensive specialist Caitlyn Cooney was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week. Senior middle blocker Charmaine Whitmore, who earned the same honor Sept. 8 this season, still sits at second in the nation in blocks per set (1.65).

UTA leads the all-time series against Georgia State (8-17, 3-8 SBC) 2-0. The Mavs swept the Panthers (25-11, 25-16, 25-18) on Oct. 4 in Atlanta, Ga. earlier this season. The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (20-5, 10-1 SBC) tied the all-time series with UT Arlington at 1-1 after defeating the Mavericks in straight sets (25-19, 25-14, 25-16) on Oct. 5 in Bowling Green, Ky.

Friday's match against Georgia State at 6 p.m. is Community Appreciation Night. Free tickets will be available by using the promo code "UTAVBNIGHT" at UTATickets.com.

Saturday's match marks the final time seniors Megan Casey (defensive specialist), Shelby Dickson (outside hitter) and Whitmore will compete at College Park Center. A presentation honoring their achievements and dedication to UT Arlington volleyball will take place before the match against Western Kentucky at 3 p.m.

"They've all done great things for us in their careers here," Seymour said. "This is a hard weekend because there's a lot of volleyball left to be played, but you want to honor them and have them enjoy this moment."

Live stats as well as live video streaming will be available for both matches this weekend. Please click here for more details.
