Caroline Erlingson saw her collegiate career come to a close in 2010 but remains with the team this season as the teams director of operations. During her stellar career, Erlingson specialized in distance events and will do the same as a first-year coach.
It didn't take long for Erlingson to make an impact on the UT Arlington program. As a true freshman, she earned All-Southland Conference honors by finishing eighth at the Southland Conference Cross Country Championships.
Injuries slowed Erlingson's momentum, forcing her to take a medical redshirt in indoor and outdoor track in 2007.
She bounced back to finish 11th at the Southland Conference Cross Country Championships in 2008 and continue for a nice track career.
In the 2008 indoor track season, Erlingson placed in the mile run. She went on to score points four times. Her best finishes came at the 2009 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships, where she placed third in the 1500m, and the Southland Conference 2009 Indoor Championships, where she earned a third-place finish in the mile run.
Erlingson placed seventh at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships in the mile run during the indoor season as a senior, scoring two points for the Mavericks.
Off the track, Erlingson excelled in the classroom as a three-time Capital One/Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Erlingson is a native of Angelholm, Sweden. She majored in Biochemistry at UT Arlington.
