UTA CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS FINISH 11th AT REGIONAL MEET

The University of Texas at Arlington men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their seasons by each placing 11th at the NCAA South Central Regional cross country meet in Waco on Saturday. Both teams placed second among Southland Conference schools, behind SLC Champion Stephen F. Austin.
The women's team was once again led by junior Kajsa Haglund, who finished 22nd with a time of 21:53.
Rounding out the women's teams were Nicole Noel, who ran a 23:33 to finish 64th; Miranda Zuniga, who ran a 23:39 to finish 69th; Deborah McGowan, who ran a 24:31 to finish 88th and Melissa Corlett, who ran a 25:15 to finish 102nd. The split time for the scoring runners was 2:38.
SMU's Karin Van Rooyen won the event with a time of 20:22, followed by Arkansas' Londa Bevins, who ran a 20:34. Arkansas won the team competition by placing all of it's runners in the top 15.
On the men's side sophomore Jacob Cedertun led the team to an 11th place finish. He ran a 32:39 to finish 46th.
Rounding out the men's team were Davis Tagi, who ran a 33:24 to finish 64th; Daniel Noah, who ran a 33:40 to finish 69th; Mitch Killough, who ran a 33:48 to finish 75th and Adam O'Hanlon, who ran a 34:08 to finish 82nd. The split time for the team was 1:29.
Arkansas' Alistair Cragg won the event with a time of 29:45, followed by SMU's Mindaugas Pukstas, who ran a 29:54. Arkansas won the team competition.
