CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Arlington native Jodi Hulett clocked a time of 18-minutes, 29-seconds to claim sixth place and lead the UTA women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Islander Splash here Oct. 1.
Rice took first place in the 10-team field with 42 points. Host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was second (55) followed by Stephen F. Austin (91), UTA (125, Trinity (130), Houston (165) and Texas-Pan America (74).
Hulett has been the top Mav runner in the first three meets of the fall. Junior Courtney Carter was 10-seconds behind Hulett and finished 10th. Junior transfer Heather Isbell was 17th (19:03), freshman Carranda Mose ran the 5K course in 20:03 for 41st place and Nolan Christian standout Shannon Pardue was 51st (20:39).
UTA returns to action Oct. 1 at the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
