Cross country set for Grass Routes Grand Prix

ARLINGTON, Tex. - The UT Arlington Men's and Women's cross country teams will head to Austin Friday evening to compete in the Grass Routes Grand Prix, hosted by the University of Texas.

The women are set to run a 6k that will feature UT Arlington, Texas, Texas Tech, Houston, Texas A&M, UT-Pan American, Dallas Baptist and Midwestern State.

The men will compete in an 8k against Texas, Concordia, Dallas Baptist, Lamar, Midwestern State, Houston, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas.

Both the men's and women's teams are coming off a 3rd place finish at the Baylor Invitational on Sept. 17th.

Sophomore Emily Koenig leads the women's team with two fourth place finishes this season. David Rayo is off to a strong start for the men's team with a fifth place and 20th place finish.

The women's race begins at 7:30 p.m., and the men's race begins at 8:15 p.m. Both races will be held at the Morris Williams Golf Course in Austin, Texas.
