SOFTBALL TICKETS

UT Arlington softball coach Kristie Fox is proud to announce that admission to all softball games at Allan Saxe Field will be free for the 2014 season. The Mavericks' 24-game home schedule begins Feb. 14 with the three-day UTA Maverick Invitational.

"In our last year in our current facility we are offering free admission, and are really trying to reach out to the community and the student population," Fox said. "We want to create a fan base here in Arlington and that fan support really does make a difference, especially in close games."

Allan Saxe Field is also playing host to the UTA Hilton Invitational from Feb. 20-23. Home games also include the first season in the Sun Belt Conference. The first Sun Belt home series is March 29-30 against Western Kentucky.

"The free admission allows people who wouldn't normally come to our games the opportunity to fall in love with our players and sport," Fox added. "Softball is a great sport to watch and the players are very accessible to the young people. Our team plans on sticking around 20-30 minutes after each game to sign autographs and meet the people that come out and support us."
